"Ain't I A Stinker?"

We started off Arista's first Halloween by carving pumpkins. We picked out a warty looking pumpkin this year, and it was very difficult to carve. I gave the carving job to Chris, and he did an excellent job! We weren't sure we wanted to carve pumpkins, because the last time we did was with Preslie. We are glad we decided to share the fun with Arista this year.

After carving pumpkins Arista and Chris put on their costumes and headed to the community Halloween party. While they were gone I made a yummy ground turkey stew in a pumpkin. I got the recipe from Chris' Grandma Janice. It was delicious, and made excellent leftovers.

After dinner I threw a costume together and we all headed out trick-or-treating. We were shocked at how many people were out and about. There were probably hundreds of people out, and almost every house passing out candy. Arista wasn't sure about it when we started, but after a few houses she had a blast. All night we heard comments about how adorable Arista was, and how cute her little skunk costume was.

We ended the night trick-or-treating to my Aunt and Uncle's house. We stayed and chatted with them for a while and then headed home. Our little skunk was exhausted after such a busy day. While Arista was asleep Chris and I enjoyed a slice of pumpkin pie and watched a Halloween movie. Arista's first Halloween goes down as one of my favorites.
