LEAVING!!!!!!!!!!

Well folks it is official! May 16th Chris and I will be on our way back to Washington D.C. for the summer. Chris has accepted an externship at a law firm there. We are excited to get out of Lansing for the summer, and spend time together with Chris' parents. I am bummed that when we come back many of our good friends will be gone. :(

Our pregnancy is moving right along. We have our next appointment the day before we leave. We are hoping to be able to find out what we are having before we leave. I am going to put a little poll on our blog to see what ya'll guess. Of course Chris hopes, thinks, wishes, prays it is a boy HOWEVER I totally think it is going to be a girl. We shall see!

Well I don't have much more to blog about. Just excited to get outta here!

Yesterday we got to hear our baby's heartbeat. It was such a neat and exciting thing. The second Dr. Herta put the Doppler on my stomach we heard the heartbeat. She said that's never happened before, probably cause I'm so skinny. Our baby's heart rate was 154 and strong. We are so blessed to be expecting this baby, and we love it already.

Lil bit of our history

2 years ago today Christopher and I went on our very first official date. It was the Monday after Easter and I had the day off, and I begged Chris to take the day off as well. We had only met 5 days earlier, and spent the entire weekend together. All of my roommates were out of town for Easter, and I was sad that I'd be all alone for the weekend. Luckily I met Chris Thursday after work on the metro. That night I said goodbye to the guy I was dating for he was on his way to NY, not knowing i'd spend the entire weekend with Chris.

Friday night came and I walked to the grocery to pick up a tub of ice cream and sprinkles, and I expected to eat and watch Pretty Woman that night. Chris calls me and I told him I was alone and about to eat a ton of calories, what a perfect opportunity for him to come over. Poor Chris. I had no idea how he found my apartment but after 1 1/2 hours of searching he finally did. I am just horrible with directions! We spent the entire night talking and laughing, and then he left around 5am. I had a rafting date I was suppose to go on at 8am but that didn't happen. After such a great night I didn't expect to hear from him for a few days. That afternoon he called me and I invited him over to watch a movie at this guys house who had the biggest crush on me, and even made me cupcakes while we were there. Man was there some jealousy things going on that night. It was awesome!

After the movie Chris came back over to my apartment and stayed again until 8am. We both fell asleep on my roommates couch for about an hour, and woke up Easter morning to birds singing outside. It is one of those memories I will never forget. I knew at that moment that I didn't want to date anyone else, and that I always wanted to be with Chris.

We were inseparable ever since. We spent every night together until 4 or 5 in the morning, and the only time we weren't together is when Chris left 4 days early to go to the Bahamas. I thought it was the end of the world, but seeing him when I arrived in the Bahamas was the happiest I have ever felt. The rest is history. We were engaged a month later, and married 3 months later.

Chris truly is my one and only, and I am so grateful for all that he does for me. He really is the perfect husband. He always cleans, does dishes, laundry, and tries to make things easier for me. He does all of this without me even asking him. Chris is always willing to help out when his family or I am in need, and he loves to look out for the little guys. He is going to make a fantastic dad, and I am blessed everyday to have him in my life. I have no idea what I would do now without him.

What a special day for us not only 2 years ago but today as well. Today we get to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time. I find it ironic that our appointment fell on the day of our first date. We are very excited and anxious! We can't wait to be parents.

Just Another Manic Monday...

Yesterday started out as a typical Monday should. We woke up got ready and then Chris drove me to work. After getting to work Chris asked me to call his cell phone. He couldn't seem to find it anywhere. He re-traced his steps, looked in the car, and then it hit him....After dropping me off he decided to be sweet and do the laundry. His phone happened to be in his pants, which he washed.

Chris found his phone in the washer, and it wouldn't work. $250 is how much they said a new phone would cost. While Chris and I were dating he had this older than dirt cell phone. One of the first Nokia's ever made. Well, luckily we found that and it is now Chris' phone once again.

Note to self. Always check your pockets before doing the wash! :D

My Saving Grace

These are the one and only things that baby M&M seem to like. How long can one stay living off these things?

Idaho, and a Martin Wedding

I had a great time spending a few days with my family and extended family in Idaho. My cousin Stephen flew out with his two daughters Gracie and Mallory. They are such cuties. Our week consisted of little sleep, lots of games and great food. Stephen was an awesome chef for us when he came to visit. I just love my family. I miss them already!

One day my grandpa couldn't find his watch, and he searched everywhere. Well he finally found it in his shoe!! I had to get a picture of that!

I then flew to SLC and met up with Chris and his family. We went to a great dinner at Julie's brothers house, and then we had the wedding the next day. It was a beautiful wedding, and the reception was great. We had such a great time spending time with Chris' parents and family. Thanks for all you guys do!!

Say What!?

Can you believe that even the weirdest, craziest, and most irresposible people are parents?

Just Like Sleeping Beauty pricking her finger on the spinning wheel and Snow White eating the posionous apple, Chris and I drank the Michigan water and are happily expecting a new baby. We are due October 29th, and we are hoping to hold out until our favorite holiday Halloween! We are very excited! :D
