You Will Be Missed!
We were very saddened to hear the news of our beloved Prophet Gorden B. Hinckley. He was such an amazing guy. He accomplished so much in his life, and he will forever always be my favorite prophet. I remember when he came out with the "Be" talk and I absolutely loved it. He was such a great example to everyone, and he had a great personality. I hope that everyone will remember his teaching and continue to want to chose the right. President Hinckley will be missed.

Way to go Miss Michigan!
I can't believe how much fun I had last night. I was so grateful that everything turned out so perfect. Thank you so much to Kara for helping me all day Saturday, and to Megan for doing the awesome poster. We were soo bummed that Laura could not be there with us, because she helped make it soo fun. Thank for you all your great ideas, we missed you!
We based our brackets on points and Megan was crowed Mrs. Sash and Tiara! Janee came into a close 2nd as the 1rst runner up, and Faith close behind as the 2nd runner up. Nice job ladies. I totally based my guesses on that reality show, and I tied in third place with Faith. Great job to Amberly and Anna for choosing Miss Michigan as the winner. We all cheered so loud when Miss Michigan won. What a coincidence huh?
Thank you so much to everyone for coming and helping out. This was one of my favorite parties, and I think we need to make this an annual thing. ;)

Some beach, somewhere
I realized I never put up any of the pictures of my trip to Kauai. It was such a beautiful and amazing experience. I have never wanted to go back so badly as I have this week. Looking back through all the pictures just made me realize how blessed I am, and how fortunate I am to have gone on a dream trip with one of my best friends. I have never laughed or cried so hard, and everyday was a new adventure. It was amazing. Thank you Michelle, I love and miss you!!!

Love has given me wings so I must fly.
I heard this morning that there was going to be a full moon; I never knew that it would bring such bad luck. Real tears of sadness filled my eyes as I heard that one of my favorite actors died. He was such a great actor. Two of my favorite movies are "A Knight's Tale", and "10 Things I Hate About You". Chris told me of his death, and I didn't believe him. I am devastated! We are so very excited to see the new Batman movie, but it will be very bittersweet to think it was Heath's last movie. Although I wasn't a fan of Brokeback Mountain, I loved him in everything else. When my older sister Kelsey and I were younger we used to be in LOVE with him. What a sad day! :(
"Hold your crown up high, raise it to the sky"
I am beyond excited for Saturday night. I have been catching up on the Miss America reality check show, and I am waiting until Friday night to fill out my bracket. I am still indecisive as to who I think will win Miss America this year.
Laura, Megan and I are really throwing something exciting and special into Saturday night. If you haven't responded to the evite PLEASE do. We are preparing something fabulous and we need to know how many ladies will be attending. You will also need some time to fill out a bracket. Since our men fill out sports brackets all the time, it's only fair that we share the same enjoyment.
If somehow we missed inviting you please let us know. We would love to have you come too.
I'll see you all on Saturday for the crowning of the next Miss America. Keep on voting.

Pimp My Ride
I wasn't going to post this on our blog but It was just too funny not to. Yesterday I had some minor surgery done on my feet (i'll spare you the before and after pics). The surgery went really well and surprisingly I have no pain...yet. I've been taking it really easy the past few days, and decided that I needed to get out of the house. Today we decided to go to Sams club and Walmart. Chris insisted when we arrived at Sams that I ride on one of those Scooters.....I was REALLY hesitant about it but after a little heat I finally agreed to. Oh my heck! I was completely paranoid the entire time I was on it. I felt like everyone was staring at me thinking "what is wrong with her". It made me feel like I was 100 pounds overweight for some reason. To make myself feel more at ease I pretended that I was paralyzed the entire time, and made sure that I never moved my legs....I found a button on the scooter that was for a horn, Chris wouldn't let me push it but it would have been funny. After Sams I decided that I would suck it up and walk around Walmart. Good times!
Check out the sign on the scooter.........hahahahahaha
Chris returning cans at Walmart....total redneck

Saturday Night Football and Spa Night
Last week the NFL playoffs started which means Chris will be watching all of the games. It was funny because after college football ended Chris informed me that football was over and that our weekends were football free. HA! L-I-E-S! (Chris told me I could add that tid bit to the blog.) Not only did he watch them last weekend, he watched them today and plans on watching them tomorrow. Since being married I have gotten use to the fact that Chris loves football, and I enjoy watching it with him now. I thought it was classic how Chris felt like he needed to trick me.
Tonight while watching the Patriots play the Jaguars I decided that we would play spa. Here are some pictures that show the excitement.
I put a face mask on him while he soaked his feet in the awesome foot bath.
He is so adorable.
I am working on his feet.
Model feet. I painted his toe nails a clear color with little glitters. They look fabulous.
Chris loves painting my toe nails, he's done them since we were engaged.
Our happy feet.

New Year, New Resolutions
It being a new year I decided that I would take my resolutions more seriously. In the past I would usually make one resolution, and it would last a day. This year Chris and I decided to be serious and actually achieve what we desire. Sunday night I cut out some colorful construction paper and we each wrote three goals that we wanted to accomplish this upcoming year. We also wrote down a list of things we need to do daily to help with them. For a reminder to us we hung them on our "goal wall" (aka family room wall). Despite the fact that they don't want to stick, it has been a great reminder to us. We have been right on top of our goals with some, and need to do better with others.
Chris has started back at school for his second semester, and we are much happier and more confident this go around. It is always a challenge moving to a new place, and starting new jobs and schools but we have really grown closer, and depend on each other much more now then we did when we were both working. We are so excited for this upcoming year.

Out with the old, in with the new
HAPPY NEW YEAR! It is truly amazing how time flies. It seems like just last week we were living in Maryland close to Chris' family. It has been a great year, and we have high hopes that 2008 will be even better. I wanted to take a few minutes and reflect back on 2007 and remember all the wonderful things that happened...
1. Chris got accepted to law school.
2. We got to go to Ohio for Marissa's swim meet.
3. I finally got my long awaited nose job.
4. We got to go to Disney World for our 1-year anniversary.
5. I got to go to Kauai for a week in September.
6. We moved to Michigan.
7. Amanda, Courtney, and Mikelle all got to visit us.
8. Curt (Chris' brother) got engaged.
9. We got to spend the holidays with our families.
We are very blessed to have such great families, and although it is hard to leave them we know that we will see them very soon. We are very grateful for the friends we have made out here, and just want to thank you for helping us feel welcome out here. We had a blast ringing in the new year with all of you.
